We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Night Nurse to provide overnight care and support to newborns and their families during the postpartum period. The Night Nurse will play a crucial role in promoting healthy sleep patterns, providing feeding assistance, and offering emotional support to new parents, allowing them to rest and recover during the nighttime hours. The ideal candidate will possess strong clinical skills, exceptional communication abilities, and a genuine passion for caring for infants and supporting families during the early stages of parenthood.

Responsibilities:
Provide attentive and nurturing care to newborns during overnight shifts, ensuring their safety, comfort, and well-being at all times.
Assist with feeding newborns, whether breastfeeding, bottle-feeding, or providing expressed breastmilk, as per parents' preferences and feeding schedules.
Change diapers, soothe fussy babies, and attend to any other immediate needs or concerns that may arise throughout the night.
Implement soothing techniques and established sleep routines to promote healthy sleep habits for newborns and support parents in managing nighttime awakenings.
Monitor newborns for signs of discomfort, hunger, or illness, and provide appropriate interventions or support as needed to facilitate restful sleep for both baby and parents.
Offer guidance and support to breastfeeding mothers, including assistance with latching, positioning, and troubleshooting common breastfeeding challenges.
Provide encouragement and reassurance to mothers as they navigate their breastfeeding journey, offering practical tips and advice to promote successful breastfeeding outcomes.
Offer emotional support and reassurance to new parents during the nighttime hours, providing a listening ear, empathetic presence, and practical assistance as needed.
Validate parents' concerns and feelings, offering encouragement and affirmation to bolster their confidence and competence in caring for their newborn.
Requirements:
Certification as a Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), with experience in neonatal or pediatric nursing preferred.
Previous experience working as a night nurse, newborn care specialist, or postpartum doula is highly desirable.
Strong clinical skills and knowledge of newborn care practices, infant feeding, and maternal postpartum recovery.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to provide compassionate support and guidance to new parents during the overnight hours.
Availability to work overnight shifts, including weekends and holidays, as needed to meet the needs of clients.
Commitment to upholding professional standards of care, including adherence to ethical guidelines, confidentiality, and respect for clients' autonomy and choices. A high level of professionalism is a must.
